Probably the most important question I'm asked when people call me is why should I pick you ?
First of all, there are a lot of good inspectors in the Houston area. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of mediocre and bad ones. As for me the facts speak for themselves. I am one of the most Code Certified TREC Inspectors in the State of Texas. Does this make me a good inspector in itself ? No it doesn't. It does tell you that I know about building and the codes, that I take my job seriously, and it also helps me with the builders. I also have the experience with several thousand inspections performed with close to 1,000 TREC inspections.
I take my time on inspections and I perform a maximum of 2 inspections per day (usually just 1). I will take as long as it takes to complete the inspection and answer all the questions that you ask. My reports are professional (complete with digital pictures), Codes (for new construction), with clear and easy to understand statements about your home.
Why shouldn't I just pick the cheapest Inspector ? Several times a week I'll get a call from a potential homebuyer that is interested in only one thing. How much do I charge for an inspection ? I'm certainly not the cheapest, so they usually hang up when I tell them the price. Hiring the cheapest inspector you can find is rolling the dice on the most important investment you'll probably ever make. Think about it. My inspections take a long time and I go way beyond the minimum standards that are set by TREC, and the standards that your cheap inspector will probably use. More times than not, the concessions you will get from the seller from my report will save you several times over the difference in the price between my inspection and the cheap guys inspection.
